“I have questions.”
“Of course you do.”
“Who do I ask?”
“Is that your first question?”
(“what?”)
“May I suggest you ask a clown. They can not lie…on second thought..Never trust a clown.
Bottom line: it depends on the clown.”
Let’s start over:
WHERE IS THE THEATER?
The BROADWATER is a fourplex of theatres at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Lillian Way (6322 Santa Monica Blvd / 1078 Lillian Way, Los Angeles 90038) . One block west of Santa Monica & Vine.
WHERE ARE MY TICKETS?
“Great question! Charlie has them. “
“Who’s Charlie?”
Don’t listen to them (that was one of the clowns typing). Your tickets will be waiting for you at our will call desk in front of your theatre’s entrance 1/2 an hour prior to curtain.
IS THE MATERIAL SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES?
No. There are adult themes and language involved. I suggest you use your discretion.
But I heard there were clowns?
Not clowns in the birthday party /circus sense. But also not clowns in the Stephen King/Horror film/’killer clowns’ sense either. Our clowns reach back to theatre in its original source. A bit of Comedia-de- arte with a twist.
And, of course, many of our shows don’t employ clowns at all. But to your first question, pretty much ALL our shows have been written with an adult audience in mind.
Back to the clowns; which productions include clowns and which ones don’t?
You will recognize us by our Theatre Ghosts logo. If you see the clown nose… yeah, there may be clowns.

TALK TO ME ABOUT SEATING…
First, please know that there is no assigned seating. And second, please be on time. Fringe runs on a tight schedule, and we can’t hold the curtain as much as we’d like to. Some shows due to their staging can’t even allow late seating (refer back to your specific show for more info on that).
ARE YOU ADA COMPLIANT?
Why? Who told you differently?
Short answer: Yes: We are ADA compliant. However, seating is limited, so do let us know if you require any accommodations so we can best attend to your needs.
AND DARE I ASK ABOUT PARKING?
Ahhhhhhhhh yes. Parking … in LA. That kind of sums it up, doesn’t it? There is no parking lot. There is ample street parking but this is Los Angeles. We recommend you Uber, rideshare, walk or bus, but if you must drive, give yourself plenty of time (might I suggest an extra 30 minutes) to find that elusive target: an open parking spot. AND, if Thespis is with you and you do secure a space quickly you can always lounge in The PLUNGE (Broadwater’s bar–conveniently located on the exact corner of Santa Monica Blvd & Lillian Way.
CAN I TAKE IN MY BAGS?
“Why do you have a bag? What’s in your bag? Groceries? TUNA FISH on rye!?”
Hand bags or purses, of course can be brought into the theater, but no food or drinks (other than water) are allowed in the theatre.
SO, WHERE IS A GOOD HOTEL NEARBY?
Yeah…. I don’t really know much on that one… I’ll ask around and update this when I have more info but… why would you want to stay in town?
WHERE’S THE BEST DINING NEARBY?
Trick question:
That depends upon your pallet now, doesn’t it? There are a smorgasbord of delicacies, specialties and fast food within walking, let alone driving distance. And of course, if you just want to wet your whistle, may we suggest The PLUNGE.
WHAT OTHER SHOWS SHOULD I SEE?
Of course, we recommend seeing ALL of our Theatre Ghosts productions being presented this year at the BROADWATER:
DEAD MAN by Ann Noble
SECOND RODEO by Michael Perlmutter
CINDY IS RIGHT NOW by Lacy Allen (co-produced alongside Solo Recess)
FIRE ESCAPE by Emily Boyle (co-produced alongside Solo Recess)
PUPPYDOG by Emilie Langjhar (co-produced alongside Solo Recess)
TRENCH by Ann Loud (co-produced alongside Solo Recess)
